tuamor is backing MCS!

We're delighted that Tuamor has linked up with the Marine Conservation Society - the UK's leading charity for the protection of our seas, coasts and marine wildlife.

MCS is doing great work to secure a better future for our oceans, including practical clean-up projects and raising awareness. Their projects include 'adopt-a-turtle' and a 'scrub it out' campaign against the use of toiletries which contain microplastics that damage our marine environment. They also organise lots of beach cleans around the UK coast each year.

MCS also runs a brilliant educational programme and you can get involved in their work by joining their team of Sea Champions. 

Part of the overall proceeds from the book (see below for details) will benefit MCS, which is great news for Tuamor and his friends!

Jenny Griffiths, MCS education officer, says: "Our ocean is vital to life on earth. Not only does it contain some of the world’s most amazing creatures, like the blue whale (the largest animal on the planet!), but we also get most of the oxygen we breathe from the sea.

"The problem is, we aren’t looking after it. Marine litter - rubbish which finds its way into the ocean - is a huge threat to the health of our ocean and the incredible creatures who live there, like Tuamor.

"Through exploring Tuamor’s story, children will gain an insight into both the problem and solutions to marine litter and be inspired to apply these strategies throughout their lives.

"The well-being of our ocean depends on having informed, aware citizens, and what better place to start than with our children, the politicians, consumers and manufacturers of the future?"

Fifty pence from the sale of the book through this website will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society; £2 from the sale of the book sold directly by MCS will go to MCS (Registered Charity Number 1004005, England & Wales and SC037480, Scotland).
