Tuamor's story
Tuamor is a turtle on a mission. he's got a message for us - & it's in a bottle...
Tuamor the turtle is the tale of how one tiny turtle in the Pacific Ocean takes on the might of the plastic peril. He's helped by two children, Abbie and her younger brother Charlie. But is it too late for Tuamor, who dreams of one day having youngsters of his own? Or does his message in a bottle turn the tide?
Written by Jo Earlam, illustrated by Mark Hannon and published by Brilliant Autobiographies, Tuamor the Turtle highlights the problem of plastic pollution in a way that can be easily understood by young children, whether reading alone or with an adult.
The book is being used by a number of primary schools for Key Stage 2 National Curriculum project work. Jo and Mark visit schools and have further Tuamor resources to share.
These include videos, original sketches from the book and PowerPoint based presentations on plastic pollution and turtles.
The book has a RRP of £5.99, ISBN number 978-0-9931883-1-2. You can order it here. The UK's leading marine charity, the Marine Conservation Society, benefits from each copy sold - visit the charity page for details.
